We all know... Well, some of us know what profession we're going to choose as our first in GW2. I'm going for the Necro master-race purely on the basis that's it's undoubtedly the most awesome class bar none.
But what's going to be your second class? What's the one class that's always been tempting? Personally I think the thief looks like a lot of fun to play, a glass cannon that will be the bain of low armour professions for years to come.![]()

I am going to roll an Engineer as my first alt.
I know its weird that my Necro is gonna be my second character considering I came over from Necrobator, but I'm sure everyone understands the importance of a blood oath.
Especially blood oaths involving your first character to be an Asuran adventurer like your friend's....
I'm not entirely sure yet. I know Necromancer will be my main class at the very least.
It is fairly likely that something like Warrior will be my 'second' though, being that I have always been rather oriented towards plate wearing classes in general. :) It is tough though because there are lots of rather neat classes.
I'm thinking of Elementalist, to justify my name Nepogoda (natural disaster) =)
"I know what makes them tick. I know how to make the ticking stop."
Without a question I'll roll an Engineer. Or maybe a Ranger....
"They left us all in the dark. They buried the sun, so I carried the torch."
First a necromancer then world dominat- I mean, everything else. Buying extra character slots on day 1, anyone?
..I suppose I am slightly altaholic..
Are you a guardian? Let me introduce you to my Flesh Golem, he's getting a bit hungry.
Hello everyone, my name is Scootermouse... and I'm an altaholic.
I first started alting in Everquest 2 when I saw how imba Shadowknights were in PvP and decided if I couldn't beat them, then I should join them. Since then I have created numerous alts over the past years and I have no plans to stop creating alts in the future. My guild kept elling me that I need to level up my main but I just couldn't stop creating alts. Eventually they kicked me out of the Guild Hall and now I have nowhere to live and 12 mouths to feed. Altaholism has ruined my raiding life. Don't let this happen to you.
Altaholism is a serious issue.
I think that the 5 character slot thing will help curb my 'altoholism', but another good thing is that I don't want to play all the classes.
Adrenaline rush.
Well, I might think about raising the dead one day and throw jars of bees at holier-than-thou men.

I can't even think of what other class I'd play as an non mule alt, it's been awhile since a mmo has come out with me wanting to have a look at them all. We've got a few altoholics in Dog Company that never made it to the cap in games before due to just playing alts. What I do like in GW2 compared to say, SWTOR is that we won't be punished by going back to starter areas to help lower level guildies and that we will get worthwhile items while being there.

It's tough to decide on what I'll play after my Necro main...maybe warrior or engineer.
probably going to roll up a engineer or a ranger as the 2nd class just because I love shooting things and making others do the work for me
After some beta play and when the game comes out ill make my choice. My reason is that everything in beta is subjected to change. I don't to make my choice on some of the things that come have out on youtube and in beta and make class when game comes and be angry that a lot has changed :O

It probably won't come as a big surprise to anyone that my main character will be a necro. :)
As for a second character, so far it's looking like it might be a ranger (I just published my hands-on impressions that give some of the reasons why) but I'm not going to say it will be for sure until I spend some more time with the engineer. I've played them the least so far, but find some of the turret skills remind me a bit of plopping down spirits with my GW ritualist. During the press closed beta, the day I spent grouped with Colin Johanson he was playing an engineer the entire time and talked a lot about how much he enjoyed the overall versatility they have to offer.
Thief seems to get overlooked quite often, but they're another interesting profession. In fact, I rarely saw them in PvP. In this last beta it seemed everyone was playing a mesmer, elementalist, guardian, warrior or ranger, with a few necros in the mix, and the occasional engineer. It might have just been the match rotations I was getting into though, because in PvE maps you'd see a pretty good mix of all professions represented.
I really do feel like the Thief and the Warrior are over looked.

Ranger for certain - Norn most likely.
Next with either be one of the following: Thief, Warrior, or Necromancer
I was kinda hoping we could mix the classes like in gw1

A mesmer (with portal) mixed with thief (invisibility) would be interesting for Keep taking/holding in WvWvW.
@Sardu,
On paper, Engineer in GW2 reminds me a LOT of Engineer for Warhammer Online. I played Engineer for WAR as my main until I discovered the awesomeness of the IronBreaker. I'll be looking forward to comparing the two. I am a huge utility/support class fan, so Engineer will be fighting it out with Warrior or Ranger as my main alt. The only thing that could derail that scenario is if I am able to play Mesmer reliably well...
Need beta badly
That's a tough choice...heck I'm having a hard enough time picking a main. My main is between a Necro and an Elementalist...the alt will probably be more of the physical side of things like a Warrior, Guardian, or Thief. Although I think the ranger and engineer look cool...I've never been much a non-magic ranged person. I like to either be smashing someone's face in or melting it with fire/diseases.
But as was said before...after beta my opinion might completely change...
"He has all of the virtues I dislike and none of the vices I admire" --Winston Churchill
Engineer will be my 2nd as Thief will be my main mainly cause i play a Sin in GW1
Engineer ALL the way :)
Hmmm, Necromancer is my main and....a necromancer as my alt? :D
I'm thinking Ranger or Thief, something a little nimbler than my Warrior main.
never thought of anything, i was thinking that maybe they removed the ability to have a second one but ok. main proffession ranger and second guardian with a hammer so that i can get rid of conditions on my team mates since all other guardians will most likely stand in front, so it should be nice to have one in middle of your group in WvWvW
I'll be a Asura Necro, followed by Sylvari Ranger 2 nd.
When life gives you lemons, shoot them back at life at high velocity.
I'm pretty tempted to try out a warrior and take a break from my standard spellcasters.
I usually alternate games between tanks, and medium armor dps. In SWTOR I was a tank, so I am going to go either Ranger or Theif, with the other being my first alt. It all depends on the pet mechanics.
After the open beta, I can't really narrow it down to just one main. I'll be having a double main (Yes, I too am an Altaholic). One, bearing my name, will be a Sylvari Ranger and the other main will be a human Ele.
Its funny. I didn't really expect to like the humans....non humans are just too nifty, but I made a human ele and it was just right...very comfortable...kind of like "comfort food" makes some feel good, but for me its "comfort toon".
As a Second (or third, depending on how count) I'm kind of thinking Guardian, but I was surprised in actually enjoying Mesmer. Send in the Clones. The Realy Clone Wars. It's just good, old fashioned fun.

I think I'll swap out my Engineer for either Necromancer or Mesmer in PvP.
Engineers are fun in PvE, but they're underwhelming in PvP.
