An article over at Massively gives details that the Asura and Sylvari races will apparently be playable during the BWE3! A blog post is expected later on today.

What do you think of this news? Good? Bad? Will you be trying out both races, or leaving one for actual release?
I will be playing an Asura as my main, so I will just play with the character creator (for both the new races) and then go back to playing my old characters. I want to keep the Asura area 'untouched' for launch.

Good, i get to explore their home worlds and personal stories, then I will be able to decide who i want to use for my first character.
Ya sylvari character creation looks amazing. I think they will have the highest amount of variety and lowest amount of similar looking characters server-wide.
I will be avoidint the sylvari starting area like the plague, so I dont ruin the newness for myself. BUt I will definitely play an asura (some of the girl designs are SO cute).
How come the bwe3 key giveaway on TTH wasnt mentioned on the home page for here? I didnt even know about it, and now the keys are all gone...
Well, I had been planning to avoid the areas until someone reminded me that this is a Beta weekend and they're looking for bugs. So, I guess I'll create a little Asuran and go hunting. Hey, would Bugg fit Asuran naming trends?
I'm fairly sure it does, since most male asura have similar names, for example Vekk or Blipp. I must admit, that's pretty good name

New blog post up about what's new in BWE3. New races, new sPvP map, new PvE map, new minigame, new vistas, more wubwub, and a fully functioning paid gemstore. Very shiny! Also: character wipes.
Side note on vistas: I reckon the developers were playing the Assassin's Creed games, as the sweeping vista cinematics are exactly like View Points in the Assassin's Creed games. Which is a good thing, as climbing to the top of a massive building and syncing was one of my favourite things to do in AC.
Side side note: Yay for more solo-friendly wubwub! Now you can contribute without being part of a huge guild / zerg.
